Simone J. Brookins, Graduate Research Associate
Simone Brookins is a graduate research assistant for Dr. Eddie Fletcher's "IT College and CAREERS Readiness Project." Prior to working on this research study, Simone worked with Dr. Chrystal Smith on the study "Using social capital and cultural model theories to guide research on the retention and degree attainment of women and minority engineering undergraduates" with Dr. Gladis Kersaint as the Principal Investigator. She is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Leadership, Counseling, and Adult, Career, and Higher Education where her program focus is Career and Workforce Education. Simone earned her B.S. degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management Information Systems, and a M.A. degree in Career and Technical Education, both from the University of South Florida. Her research interests include African American male students and their experiences and perceptions of STEM majors and careers.
